Creating a Page

This is “Page” in the most the generic definition.

Review the Internal Documentation for the type of page you’re building, as it will contain valuable nuance to the template the page type is based on. Be sure to review the Internal Document about Image and Video Standards.

However, the basic process is the same for each type, whether it’s a standard Page or Post, or a CPT:

  • Clicking the Add New button for the appropriate page type.
  • Give the page a title (keep in mind this also becomes the “slug” for the url)
    • There are several instances where the title is different
  • Choose a Featured Image. This is important, as it is used on landing pages.
  • Enter appropriate data into any of the Field Group fields under the Page, if any exist.
  • Add galleries to the page, where needed.
    • For the Project custom page types (New Homes, Remodels, etc), these are usually the blueprints and the portfolio galleries.

For most Custom Page Types, while in edit mode the page will look very empty, except for any galleries you’ve added. The page templates determine where the Field Group data will appear.
