One of Spokane’s oldest neighborhoods, it’s home to numerous historic buildings and mansions. Housing options also include modest older homes, condominiums, apartments, and historic restoration projects.
There’s a strong sense of community as its residents host block parties, barbeques, yard sales, and neighborhood clean-ups.
Urban Village Life
The neighborhood has numerous parks, access to downtown amenities, but there is a little pocket of businesses on Monroe with a natural grocery store and a hardware store next to it that make it somewhat fit the definition of urban village.

Cliff Park Featuring a volcanic outcrop once used by the Spokane Tribe as a lookout, it offers beautiful panoramic views of the city.
Polly Jud Park This was a Cliff-Cannon Neighborhood Project established in 1992. There’s an exercise circuit, children’s playground equipment, shade trees, picnic shelter, community garden, and food forest space.
Edwidge Woldson Park Originally named Pioneer Park in 1945, but renamed to Edwidge Woldson Park in 2010, this park includes the Moore-Turner Heritage Gardens and the Corbin Art Center.

Bennedito’s Pizza A local pizzeria known for its hearty pies, sandwiches, and pasta plates, and their large craft beer selection.
Lebanon Restaurant Their menu is extensive and includes many Middle Eastern dishes, drinks, and desserts.
Huckleberry’s Natural Market This local establishment, located on Monroe Street is a standalone full-service natural grocery store with everything from meats & cheese, produce, and wines. Other Huckleberry locations are usually inside a Rosauer’s or Super 1 grocery store.
